President's Message
Well, this is my last President's Message.  What an awesome experience being the Michigan Division President has been for me!  I can't begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed my tenure and all of the opportunities this has brought me.  I have had a chance to meet so many more Michigan Division members, attend chapter meetings around the state, make site visits to future MDAM and MDEW venues, revise and update committee leader descriptions and a host of other things.

I want to thank my awesome board for all of the support, encouragement, laughs, hard work and dedication this past year.  We have accomplished a lot and you were all a vital part of these accomplishments.

All the very best to the 2011-2012 MD Board:
President:  Marcia Barrette-Rushton, CPS/CAP
President-Elect:  Ruth Sorensen
Vice President: Melissa Sundquist, CPS/CAP
Recording Secretary: Denise Haselhuhn, CPS
Communications Secretary: Wendy Gauthier, CAP
Treasurer: Jan Stewart, CAP

With Passion & Purpose
Marie A. Ouzoonian, CPS/CAP
Michigan Division President

EFAM 2011- Montreal Canada
So are you going?  What an experience you will have.  I sincerely hope you will consider attending this exciting event for all IAAP members.  This year, we will be traveling to Montreal, Canada.  There will be many workshops and keynote speakers.  One of the speakers is Clinton Kelly from the TV series, "What Not to Wear."  I'm sure he will be very entertaining.

The Office Expo is always a great place to pick up new office ideas and samples of new office supplies.  Marcia Barrette-Rushton, incoming 2011-2012 President, is compiling a list of Michigan Division members who will be attending EFAM.  Please send her your name, hotel, email address and cell phone number so she can keep you updated on the following events:  MD photo session (Sunday, July 24 @ 2:50 p.m.), the time and location of the District Caucus and the time and location of the 'Friends of Michigan' dinner.  Also, please ensure that you have submitted the name of a Delegate or a Proxy for your chapter.  Send the name of your chapter's Delegate and/or Alternate to Marcia at mbarrette-rushto@mhc.net.  If your chapter is not sending a Delegate or Alternate to EFAM, please let Marcia know if you have submitted a Proxy and who will be carrying your chapter's Proxy to Montreal.

MDAM Update
Well, MDAM 2011 is now history - but oh, what a great time we had!  It sure was different being behind the microphone and being "in charge" of everything.  But with the support, assistance and encouragement of the 2010-2011 MD Board and all the MDAM volunteers, it was a very successful event.  Kudos to everyone who attended and extra kudos to those who stepped up and volunteered to help.  This important event would not be possible if so many of you did not assist.

A complete listing of the chapter awards is available by clicking here.  This list will also be posted on the MD website under MDAM 2011.

Evaluations are still coming in, but so far the majority have been very encouraging and indicate that MDAM was a huge success.

If you were not able to attend this year, I certainly hope you will mark your calendars for next year to attend in the Grand Rapids area.  The venue is still being considered.

RTF News
It's June already, which brings us to the final RTF newsletter article for the 2010-2011 year.  Click here for the RTF article from Karen Kohn, CPS/CAP, International RTFC, Great Lakes District.

Members can once again look for the RTF booth at the expo during EFAM, plus there will be an opportunity for them to visit the RTF during office hours.  Come with questions, come with comments, come with suggestions - come!

The March FoG Challenge winner will be announced at EFAM.  The report is in, the numbers have been tallied - I am eager to share the news.  Who will it be...?

It has been my honor to serve the members of the Great Lakes District on the RTFC this year and I would not have been so effective without your help.  I thank you for your assistance!

Karen Kohn, CPS/CAP
RTFC, Great Lakes District

2010-2011 Members of Excellence
Congratulations to all Michigan Division members who have submitted to headquarters their Member Of Excellence application.  A complete listing of all division submissions is available by clicking here.  This will also be posted on the MD website.
